Wahkowtowin Resiliency & Mental Wellness (Edmonton and Area)
Relationships or “Wahkotowin” are recognized as the foundation of enduring success for children and the ability to restore and rebuild relationships.
The Wahkowtowin Resiliency program recognizes that families may need support after a traumatic series of events. The program offers supports to reconcile, build and support relationships between children, their parents and extended family.

The Mental Wellness Program supports both the child and family to access supports who come into the care in the Edmonton and Area Child and Family Services. The focus is to provide culturally enhanced assessments, within the framework of the Sacred Circle and is facilitated by a neutral party and is led by an Elder. Families are often supported by services offered by NCSA or other community supports when and where necessary.
