The Otipaymsowin (o-te-pa-yi-mi-sow-win) Reintegration Centre provides a safe, culturally grounded environment that works to remove barriers, create real opportunities and support the self determination of individuals as they rebuild their lives.
The program is designed for Indigenous people 18+ on bail, parole, probation, leaving correctional facilities or have completed sentences within the last six months. Referrals from parole/probation officers, community instututions/programs, or self-referrals.
Services and Supports
One on One support with:
- Housing
- Employment and Training resources
- Community Referrals (including mental and emotional health)
- Onsite medical supports
- Employment and training resources/workshops
- Applications and ID Assistances
- Criminal Record Expungement
- Personalized support/resource plan, applications and paperwork
- Navigating systems and advocating on behalf of participants
- Solving problems, acting as mentors, motivators and bridges to opportunities
Participants have meaningful access to:
- Elders and traditional knowledge
- Ceremony and teachings
- Programs rooted in Indigenous perspectives
